Owens Corning Fiberglas® Batts
A complete line of Owens Corning Batt Insulation available in unfaced, kraft or foil batts. Kraft and foil faced batts have flanges to allow for stapling. The strong vapor barrier keeps moisture out with a perm rating of one or less. Products meet ASTM 665. Foiled batts are also available, call for details on sizes.
Owens Corning High Density Batts
Owens Corning has developed a line of high density batts for 2 x 4, 2 x 6, or cathedral ceiling applications. This new batting enables the builder the option of increasing the R-factor of the job or substituting lighter framing members to save cost without sacrificing the overall thermal efficiency of the structure. When used in a cathedral ceiling application a ventilated roof can be obtained while still using standard 2 x 10 or 2 x 12 framing.
Owens Corning manufactures a complete line of fiberglas® and mineral wool building insulation products that provide maximum energy efficiency and sound control in commercial structures.
Commercial Blanket Insulation – Designed for use between metal studs or some suspended ceilings, lightweight fiberglas blanket insulation offers both thermal and sound insulation. This easy-to-install product is available in full 16″ or 24″ widths in a wide range of R-factors. It comes unfaced or kraft faced.
Flame Spread 25 – Walls and ceilings where the insulation facing is exposed need the extra protection of Flame Spread 25, a fiberglass insulation with a special Foil/Kraft laminate facing. The surface burning characteristics include a Flame Spread of 25 and Smoke Developed of 50, per ASTM E84-80. Suitable for low abuse areas.
Semi-Rigid Insulation Board – This lightweight, resilient insulation is designed for use in curtain walls, masonry wall cavity spaces and interiors of masonry walls between furring channels. Two types are available, and both come faced or unfaced. 703 is for exterior walls and between wythes of masonry walls, while higher-strength 705 is for areas requiring greater resistance or a more uniform appearance.
CW225 Fiberglas® Insulation – Owens Corning’s semi-rigid insulating board, made of inorganic glass fibers, is specially designed for thermal and acoustical insulation in commercial curtain wall systems. It comes unfaced or faced with a foil scrim Kraft vapor retarder.
Owens Corning Acoustical Blanket and Board
SelectSound® Black Acoustic Board, composed of inorganic glass fibers, provides excellent acoustic performance for multiplex theaters, sound studios and performing arts centers. It is dimensionally stable, will not shrink, warp, rot or mildew, and is noncorrosive to steel, copper and aluminum. Acoustic Benefits SelectSound Acoustic Board helps provide the highest quality audio reproduction by reducing sound reverberation within spaces. It will absorb up to 100% of the sound striking its surface depending on the specified thickness.
Product Description: SelectSound® Black Acoustic Blanket is an all-black wool product with a black mat surface composed of inorganic glass fibers. It is excellent for eliminating light reflections while providing superior acoustical performance in multiplex theaters, sound studios and performing arts centers. It is also ideal for use above suspended metal ceiling systems.
Acoustic Benefits: SelectSound Black Acoustic Blanket helps provide the highest quality audio reproduction by reducing sound reverberation within spaces. Depending on the specified thickness, it will absorb up to 100% of the sound striking its surface (1.00 NRC)
R-11 and R-19 Unfaced Material
Post frame construction is quickly replacing metal frame construction in the agricultural market. A much less expensive alternative for confinement and workshop use, this type of construction has special insulation needs, which Southwest Insulation has taken the time to address. We now carry R-11 and R-19 unfaced material that has been specially designed for application in this unique form of construction. Call for a price quote for your special projects.
A selection of facings is available for application to metal building insulation. Foil scrim kraft, vinyl scrim foil or vinyl reinforced poly may be selected to achieve the desired vapor barrier performance, light reflection and abuse resistance, as well as a clean, bright finish. For faced-metal building insulation please call for job quotations.
